The IRS will allow deductions for some travel expenses when parents attend medical conferences for their children. On May 8, 2000, responding to a request from Congressman George Miller, the IRS issued a ruling that will allow parents to deduct some of the costs associated with attending medical meetings related to their children's health condition. Parents will be able to deduct "amounts paid by an individual for expenses of admission and transportation to a medical conference relating to the chronic disease of the individual's dependent." CHANGE THE LIVES OF MSUD ADULTS AND CHILDREN

The MSUD Family Support Group is currently funding several research projects and we are proactively looking for researchers interested in developing new treatments or finding a cure for MSUD. Significant funding is necessary if we are to accomplish this goal.
