MSUD Symposium 2024 is quickly approaching!
It has been SO long since we all got together. You won’t want to miss the comprehensive review of MSUD research. Presenters will introduce new research or provide updates on their current projects in concise presentations. Besides research, some of the other topics that will be covered include medical and dietary management, liver transplantation, neuropsychology, advocacy, and fundraising. In addition to increasing your MSUD knowledge, you ‘ll have opportunities to renew old friendships and meet new families.

Hyatt Regency Reston. The hotel is located 7 miles from Dulles International Airport and 20 miles from Washington DC. The Reston Town Center, which boasts many shops and restaurants is located next to the hotel.

The conference starts Thursday evening June 27th at 7PM with registration and reception. The sessions will be from 8AM- 5PM on Friday June 28th and 8AM- 12N on Saturday June 29th.

Symposium Dates: June 27-29, 2024
The registration fee to attend the entire 3-day conference is $30 per person and a maximum of $100 per family. The fee is to help defray symposium costs. This can be paid via PayPal when you click the “Register Now” button below. Just complete the registration form and hit the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form. You will be taken to the PayPal site for payment. To pay, you can use your PayPal account. You can also your credit or debit card and check out as a “Guest”. Alternatively, you can mail a check with the registration form that was mailed to your home. Make check payable to “MSUD Family Support Group” and mail to Denise Kolivoski, Executive Director- MSUD Family Support Group, 4028 Calico Dr, Erie, PA 16506.
Hotel Rate and Accommodations
Room rate is $159 per night plus tax. This special group rate is available three days before and after the symposium, however, there are a limited number of rooms available at the reduced rate before and after the symposium. If you are planning to do some sightseeing and will be arriving earlier or staying later, make your reservation soon. Rooms with 2 double beds or 1 king bed are available. Accessible rooms are available on request. The hotel has a restaurant and there are many places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Other hotel amenities include an indoor pool, refrigerator in each room and fitness center. Parking is available at a reduced rate of $4 for up to 2 hours, $6 for 2-4 hours, $10 daily or $8 overnight.

Meals
During the Thursday evening June 27th registration /reception, dinner will be provided which will include regular and low protein pizza, salad and regular and low protein cookies. Breakfast buffet on Friday June 28 th, lunch buffet on Friday June 28th and breakfast buffet on Saturday June 29 th will be provided to all attendees. Low protein food options will be available for all meals. Dinner Friday evening June 28 th is on your own.
If you have other dietary needs such as Kosher or gluten free, please inform Denise Kolivoski.
Hotel check-in
4:00PM and check- out is 11:00AM. Early check may be an option depending on room availability.
Attire
Comfortable, casual attire is appropriate for the entire symposium. Consider bringing a sweater in case the meeting room is colder than you prefer.
Children’s Activity Room
There will be a room available with activities/entertainment for children and there will be several volunteers to assist the children. However, there will be no babysitting services. Please keep this in mind as you plan your trip. Consider bringing a grandparent, teenager, or sibling to babysit your younger children. Older children, teens, and young adults are encouraged to attend the general sessions.
Transportation to the hotel from Dulles International Airport
There is not a shuttle available from the airport to the hotel, however, you can travel to and from the airport and Hyatt Regency via the Metro Silver Line. Dulles Airport is located at the Washington Dulles International Metrorail Station on the Silver Line. Take the Silver Line from Dulles International Airport to the Reston Town Center stop near the hotel. There is a complimentary shuttle that runs every 15 minutes Mon through Fri 7AM-7PM to and from the Reston Town Center stop to the hotel. If you choose to walk between the Reston Town Center stop and the hotel entrance, the distance is 0.8 miles. Of course, transportation via a taxi or Uber are also options.
